Yuseong District, City of Healing

A Pleasant and Relaxing City Close to Nature

Yuseong is a city you want to stay in. It is close to nature, and boasts forests, parks, and streams nearby. It also has Korea’s largest outdoor hot spring foot bath area and foot bath cafes based on the theme of sasang constitutional medicine, allowing anyone to experience relaxation.

The Thousand-year Legend of Yuseong’s Hot Springs

One thousand years ago, during the three kingdoms period of Korea’s history, a soldier was severely wounded on the battlefield and set off to return to his hometown. One day, he saw a crane with an injured wing fly down and wash its wing in the water bubbling from the ground. Suddenly healed, the crane flew back off into the sky. Seeing this, the soldier washed his own body in the water and his wounds were healed. This is how Yuseong’s hot springs were discovered, and they became widely known as the place where a bird that had fallen from the heavens was healed.
